Viewhill Australian Stock Horses
Viewhill Australian Stock Horses has always been a dream for me. It finally came true in 2010 with the registration of our prefix and the purchase of our first broodmares and future sire. Viewhill is the name of my grandparents home in Scotland, which has been in the family for over 100 years. We are hoping for the same success and longevity that has been blessed upon them with our own farm here in Australia. Look out for our brand in the show and campdraft arena in the future.
Our aim is to produce a few quality foals each year, focusing on Type, Temperament and Trainability. We have selected mares that are typey, well performed with good temperaments and sought after bloodlines. We want horses who are show quality, with the ability to win leds and hacks, but also working, time trials and campdrafts, that are quiet and kind enough to be kids horses but talented enough to be serious open competition horses. As we are both tall, our focus is on 15.2-16hh however we have a few that go under height that are available from time to time.
Animal welfare is extremely important to us and all our horses receive correct care, nutrition and training along the way to fulfill their potential and live in peace and comfort. Dental health, worming, and regular hoof trims are vital in our day to day stud management.
From time to time we will take on selected mares to lease who have retired from their ridden careers due to injury or owner circumstance, so if you think you may have a suitable mare feel free to tell us about her. All our broodmares receive the same care as our show horses, ensuring they live a long and happy life.
