We require a contract of sale to be signed upon purchasing one of our horses. This is to protect both parties in case any disputes arise. A full contract is available to be emailed to interested parties, however, in purchasing a Viewhill Horse, you also agree to understand and accept the following :
"We here at Viewhill put a lot of time and love into our horses and try our best to ensure they have a bright future. Each of our breakers has over 100 hours of training behind them, and our established horses much, much more! We know our horses intimately and have built up a strong, trusting relationship with each and every one of them. This trust and respect is a mutual understanding, which allows us to have the connection and partnership you have seen and experienced, the softness, obedience, consistency, clarity and confidence our horses possess.
It has taken hours of training and hours of experiences and obstacles to have our horses at this level. It is not realistic to expect your new horse to behave perfectly at all times in the future. When you take your horse home, you are changing his location, feed, routine, workload, type of work, not to mention riding equipment. You are taking away his home and changing life as he knows it. It is only fair to expect your new horse to make mistakes, to exhibit anxiety, or behave in a manner considered ‘out of character’.
During this adjustment period, which can take weeks depending on the horse, it is strongly recommended that you seek professional lessons until you feel confident and have started to build a partnership with your horse. It is too late to wait until you are worried or nervous around the horse – being pro-active will keep you and your new horse happy and safe.
We are more than happy to offer advice and assistance over the phone or in person, and encourage owners to stay in touch and keep us updated into the future. Wherever practical I recommend undertaking regular lessons here with me so you can start to understand how your horse ticks by someone who already knows the unique individuality of your particular horse. We try to represent our horses as honestly and in depth as possible, so that we can make the best possible match for horse and rider. "
